From a hairline foundation crack to a fully flooded crawl space, Halo Water Proofing has handled it in McGuffey before. We show up, we diagnose it straight, and we fix it right.
We're Halo Water Proofing — a OH-licensed, fully insured waterproofing outfit that's spent years learning exactly how water moves through McGuffey-area foundations, and exactly how to stop it.
Every technician on our McGuffey crew is background-checked, factory-trained on the equipment we install, and held to the same estimate we quote you over the phone — no upsell surprises when the truck pulls up.
Call now and talk to an actual technician, not a script. We'll walk you through what's likely going on and get a crew scheduled.
📞 +1-866-476-1348Most McGuffey customers didn't wake up one day with a flooded basement. It usually started small. These are the early signs worth calling about.
A musty smell in the basement or crawl space is usually moisture you can't see yet, not just "old house smell."
Hairline cracks can widen over a McGuffey winter's freeze-thaw cycle and become active leak points by spring.
Efflorescence is a clear sign that water is actively passing through your McGuffey foundation wall, even if you've never seen standing water.
A sump pump that never stops cycling is often working harder than it should, or is undersized for your McGuffey lot's water table.
If a foundation wall looks like it's leaning or bulging inward, that's beyond a simple seal and needs a full assessment.
Flooring that's cupping or warping near an exterior wall is a common clue our McGuffey crews trace back to a drainage issue.
Every McGuffey property is different — soil, slope, foundation age, water table depth. We size the fix to the actual problem, not a one-size package.
When your McGuffey basement floods, minutes matter for your drywall, flooring, and belongings. We dispatch a crew immediately, pull the water, and start drying the space with commercial-grade equipment the same visit.
Call for Emergency Service →Hairline cracks are how most McGuffey basements start leaking. We use polyurethane injection to seal the crack from the inside out, stopping the leak at the source instead of just painting over the symptom.
Get a Crack Assessment →Already have a sump pump that's failing or too small for your McGuffey lot? We'll test it, tell you honestly whether it needs replacing, and size the new one to your actual water volume — not the cheapest unit on the truck.
Schedule a Pump Inspection →Some McGuffey lots need both an interior and exterior system working together — we'll tell you honestly if that's the case rather than selling just one.
Ask About Drain Systems →Older McGuffey homes with vented crawl spaces are especially prone to seasonal moisture swings — encapsulation closes that off for good.
Get a Crawl Space Quote →Commercial properties in McGuffey carry bigger stakes when water gets in: inventory, tenants, downtime. We scope commercial jobs with the same crew leads who run our residential work, backed by written specs and timelines.

You receive a written, itemized quote before any work begins — the number you approve is the number you're billed.
Once the repair is done, you get documentation of the work and a written warranty — not just a handshake.
There's no verbal quote that magically grows once the crew arrives at your McGuffey property — the written estimate is the final word.

Our repairs come with written, transferable warranties — a real asset if you sell the McGuffey property later.
If your McGuffey basement just needs a $200 crack seal instead of a $12,000 system, that's what we'll tell you.
We document the damage with photos and a written scope your insurance adjuster can actually use, and we'll walk you through the claim process.
Word of mouth is still how most McGuffey customers find us, which keeps our standards higher than a big out-of-town franchise.
"Called at 6am with a flooded basement and had a tech at my door by 8. No runaround, no upsell — just fixed it."
"Fair price, showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves. Wish more contractors worked like this."
"Crawl space smelled awful for years. Encapsulation crew did a clean job and the smell is completely gone upstairs now."
"Straightforward commercial quote, no back-and-forth, crew was professional the whole project."
"We had three foundation cracks and expected a huge bill. Turned out only one needed injection — they didn't try to sell us on the other two. That honesty is rare."
"Insurance claim was a headache until they stepped in with photos and a written scope. Adjuster approved it within a week after that."
